Going paperless will not only improve the efficiency of your business, but you'll be doing your bit for the environment too!
Archiving
Many companies have a large quantity of paper stored in filing cabinets and boxes etc. Most of these documents will never be needed again, but it is often a legal requirement to keep them for many years. Not only will you save space by scanning these files, you'll also save time should you ever need to retrieve a document. To do your bit for the environment, why not then shred and recycle the paper too? It won't take up much of your time but if every business did their bit, would have a massive impact on the environment. For further information on destroying documents please click here.
Day to day
The need to print a document is decreasing thanks to e-mail and other methods of transferring data. However, most businesses still receive a large quantity of paper every week in the mail. Much of this goes in the bin, but quite often the documents will get photocopied many times and circulated to those concerned. Why not cut back on the amount of paper wasted by scanning the document and then emailing or sharing it with the help of document management software?
The future
Realistically we will always have some paper around us, but the only way to decrease its use is by doing your bit. Business linked to you will start to do the same, if they’re not already, and in no time at all you'll find that almost everything is done electronically.
