I have bought over a dozen of these Fujitsu ScanSnap over the years for my expanding business and seen several model changes, the latest being the S1500. They all have features in common; they are easy to use, reliable and produce excellent results. For the money, there is nothing comparable. Unfortunately, another feature they have in common is that the software is difficult to load and is not intuitive. I imagine their helpline is very busy with ScanSnap customers trying to use their new machine for the first time! However, once you are pass this hurdle (and I am an expert at it now!!!), you will find yourself with a brilliant machine and will never regret the purchase |

Everything is going very well with the Fujitsu ScanSnap s1500 scanner and ,with 20,000 scans down, I haven't had any problems with it. In fact it is everything I had hoped and more. I heartily recommend it.
To give you an idea, I have cleared approx 12 crates full of lever arch files and papers of various ages into nice and clear pdfs - this is saving about 50 square foot of space (a bedroom,van or office full), all done in 2-3 weeks. It is SO quick - genuinely 20 duplex copies/minute, the thing that slows the process is my being ready with the next file. The scanner is perfectly reliable and works fine so long as I remember to remove all the staples - in fact it is more reliable than me! It ALWAYS tells you if pages have gone through together, usually due to folded paper put in (ie my fault), and if the paper is well organised I can almost leave it to it. It can take paper from scraps to A3 (using the carrier sheet).
File size is about 5Gb so far, so not too heavy on the disk space.
As a bonus with this scanner, you get adobe pdf read/write software as well, this lets you adjust your documents after the event, which I have needed to do to with some of my handwritten notes/diagrams, to make sure that they are the correct way up.
I would recommend this scanner to anyone who needs/wants to save documents but cannot justify the physical space. It would have taken me years to get this done with a flatbed. I will be able to travel very light in the future.
I would also say that the service from tradescanners was excellent, with good pre and post sales support and very prompt delivery. I ordered in the afternoon and received it the following morning.

An absolutely fabulous scanner. Small size. Very stable software and usable without reading the manual! Fast double sided scanning with great features such as compensating for image when popped through at a slight angle, optical recognition and one touch scanning to a specific folder. I am very impressed. Suddenly "paper-light" is an option. Well done TradeScanners for prompt delivery and brilliant price. |

we bought a fujitsu scanner about 18m month ago due to a recommendation from a friend, since the day it came it has been used every single day (7 days a week) scanning approx 90 sheets a day, we had once slight problem with it and it was swapped 2 days later without question. when out fitting a new office we purchased a second scanner the scan snap s1500 (the later version to our previous scan snap) again this has been used everyday since it came, We thought that the first scanner was unbeatable until the new one came with updated software able to scan direct to word, excel, email etc. Without doubght I would recommend one to anybody who wants to file and store documents quick and easy! Perfect little piece of kit! also stylish and sits neatly on the desk too. |
