Less effort for effective, efficient pre-scan processing
The fi-7160 brings industry leading mixed batch scanning capabilities to the desktop with a design that allows for a record breaking mixed batch feeding range from 27 - 413 g/m², freeing the user from most paper weight related pre-sorting requirements.
The fi-7160 makes use of an ultrasonic sensor that accurately detects errors where two or more sheets are fed through the scanner at once. Multifeed detection works reliably when scanning mixed batches of documents with different paper weights and sizes. When multifeed is detected, the user is instantly alerted and can continue capturing all relevant sheets and pages without losing relevant information. Alternatively, using PaperStream Capture for batch scanning jobs will allow for ex post correction without any interruption during the scanning process.
With the scanner's Intelligent Multifeed function, document sheets that include attached repositionable notes or photos are recognised along with the location of the attachment. With appropriate software settings, the scanner automatically prevents user-defined zones from triggering alert conditions, allowing continuous, uninterrupted scanning.
Automatic detection enables the fi-7160 to create image output formats in colour or monochrome, based on the actual document content. There is no need to change settings manually.
Advanced scanner driver and image capture software
PaperStream IP – high quality image processing
Built on TWAIN / ISIS standards, PaperStream IP is the scanner driver for Fujitsu fi-series image scanners. With its advanced black and white and colour processing, a range of documents can be automatically and easily converted into image data suitable for complex post capture processing -producing for example highly accurate OCR results. High quality image data can be created without defining scanner settings in advance, as PaperStream IP will aim to optimise this automatically for every sheet.
PaperStream Capture – enhanced batch scanning
PaperStream Capture enhances the data capture process from adjusting scanning settings to performing batch scanning, verifying data and releasing to directories, repositories or subsequent process routines. Users can complete data capture tasks easily with the extremely user-friendly graphical user interface (GUI). Moving scanned batches into a queue for later retrieval is possible as well.
Seamless linkage with PaperStream IP provides for high quality image processing and simplified batch scanning operation at the same time.
Imprinter option
If you need your documents to show evidence of having been scanned, the optional imprinter will "stamp" the reverse side of your documents additionally providing a cross-reference from your digital files.
Cut TCO with centralised administration
The fi-7160 comes equipped with a centralised administration feature that system administrators can use to manage the installation and operation of multiple image scanners and network scanners from one location.
IT administration staff can monitor running status, update scanner drivers, software and more with this powerful software. This dramatically reduces operating costs whilst reducing the effort that organisations need to spend setting up, operating and maintaining their inventory of scanners. With these Scanner Central Administration tools, it is easier than ever to expand scanner networks to multiple remote locations.
Important business information held on paper documents flows freely through the fi-7160's paper feeder into your organisation's backbone.
